Lauren White Murphy’s story is nothing short of extraordinary—a tale of resilience, reinvention, and remarkable talent. Known for her successful career as a songwriter, ghostwriter, and actor, Lauren carved a name for herself in the entertainment industry, thriving in roles often behind the scenes. Her songwriting talents found a home on one of Europe’s biggest stages: The Eurovision Song Contest. Lauren collaborated with songwriters across multiple countries, contributing to entries for Azerbaijan, Denmark, Malta, Romania, and her native Ireland. She worked tirelessly to bring these performances to life, even as her contributions were often anonymous.

In 2013, Lauren stepped into the spotlight as a credited songwriter for Ireland’s entry in the National Final on RTÉ. Despite her best efforts and a promising song, she didn’t secure the chance to represent her country on the Eurovision stage. Viewing this as an opportunity rather than a setback, Lauren used the experience as a springboard to explore new genres and opportunities Stateside, where she would go on to achieve remarkable success in other areas of entertainment.

Her creative fingerprints can be found in music for global platforms, contributing to the Grammy-winning soundtrack of Netflix’s Orange is the New Black, FX’s acclaimed series American Horror Story, and even in collaborations with musical powerhouses like Lady A (formerly Lady Antebellum), Nicole Scherzinger of the Pussycat Dolls, Katy Perry and Rihanna to name a few. Her repertoire extends far beyond these names, including work with countless successful artists Lauren may never even know about—an often unspoken reality of ghostwriting, though it came with the reward of shaping chart-topping hits and earning well-deserved paychecks. She had a guest starring role in the NCIS franchise among other pilots and festival films, also receiving producer credits.

But life took an unexpected turn when Lauren was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in 2018—a moment that could have been devastating but instead sparked an astonishing creative rebirth.

Overnight, Lauren discovered a talent she never knew she had. With no formal training or background in visual art, she began to paint with a natural brilliance as though something had been unlocked within her. Her works are mesmerizing—photographs simply don’t do them justice. To truly experience them, you must see them with your own eyes. The depth and emotion, the texture and layers, and the saturated colors seem to ooze from the canvases. Whether working on carefully hand-stretched canvases or fine art paper, Lauren uses every medium at her disposal—acrylics, poscas, inks, pastels, oils—refusing to leave the studio until she feels a piece is complete. It’s as though her soul is poured into every brushstroke, creating artwork that resonates deeply with viewers. Her brand name is Lolopop, having started as a pop artist with her nickname Lolo- both names-so memorable.

Her portraits, in particular, are dreamlike, evoking a sense of connection that transcends the physical world. Whether crafting personal pieces for loved ones or for people she’s never met, Lauren has an uncanny ability to capture essence and emotion. One of her most moving creations was a portrait of Hollywood actress Selma Blair, created during Blair’s journey with her own MS diagnosis. This piece, like much of Lauren’s work, delves deep into the soul of its subject, drawing admiration and emotion from all who view it.

Her art has brought people together and left even the toughest hearts moved. It’s no surprise that her talent brought tears to Hollywood Action Man Liam Neeson, known for his stoic performances in films like Taken. Equally, the legendary Meryl Streep was moved, offering Lauren heartfelt and admiring praise for her extraordinary ability to evoke powerful stories and emotions through her art. Adding a personal and thoughtful touch, Lauren painted Meryl and her mother, Mary, set in their ancestral town of Dunfanaghy, Horn Head, Co. Donegal—a tribute that beautifully intertwined their family heritage with her artistic vision.

Lauren’s art, vibrant, bold and emotive, has become a beacon of hope and inspiration for many. Her journey from the shadows of ghostwriting to the spotlight of gallery walls proves that reinvention is possible at any stage in life. Her works have graced exhibitions across the globe, from Hollywood and the Contemporary Irish Center in Los Angeles to MARTS’ celebrated “From Me To You” Exhibition during the COVID pandemic alongside artist Maser. She has also exhibited in Beverly Hills, Los Angeles, and Orange County, drawing acclaim for her ability to merge depth, emotion, and technical brilliance. Her works are sought after and In November 2024, her stunning creations reached a pinnacle of recognition, with her artworks displayed on the iconic screens of Times Square in New York City, solidifying her status as a world-class artist.

Not content to merely excel in her craft, Lauren uses her platform to give back. She donates her artworks to charities supporting causes close to her heart, including the MS Society, Cancer charities, and hospitals, turning her pain into purpose. Among her many philanthropic contributions, Lauren designed the official "MS Head Sweater" for MS Ireland, a project that merged her creativity with her commitment to raising awareness and funds for Multiple Sclerosis. She has painted murals in her hometown of Walkinstown/Crumlin creating the "Dublin 12 Legends" which includes Gabriel Byrne, Christy Brown, Fintan O Toole, Paddy Casey, Andy Reid and Robbie Keane to name a few, whilst also creating artworks for Crumlin Utd and Crumlin GAA-lending her support to her local community.
